My point is that it's inevitable that it will be done, and I really don't think it'll make much difference in price even under what the oil companies would consider ideal conditions. But if it's going to be done anyway, it should be used as a bargaining chip.

That's funny. I made an eerily similar statement just last night, when I was verbalizing the downfalls of tarot readings.

"I'm not making the point of whether or not it is accurate. I'm saying, even if I was absolutely sure that my reading was 100% correct, what purpose would knowing the general trend my life is going to take serve? Either it's going to go badly, or it's going to go well. If it's going to go well, then I won't act differently. If it's going to go badly, then I can't avoid it. If you believe you have free will and can change the future, are you going to try more or less diligently to make your life better based on what the baseline future looks like?

It applies to plans as well. If I set out to make a plan, will that make me try harder to fulfill it? Will I feel satisfied if I achieve my goals and no more?

I mean, really, it makes sense to start with plan A: go broke and starve to death. Hell, you'll be an overachiever in no time at all!

Mmmm. Morning meditation sounds really good. Lately I've found that I'm lacking a lot of focus in my daily routines. Like I'm swimming in a swamp and not making headway in any direction.

Of course, the fact that I don't know how to swim makes that image even MORE frustrating....

Daily meditation may give me a diving board to jump from, so to speak. A nice stable ground to start from, instead of the continual mess of 'yesterday'.
